Piracy Studies is a page that intends to make academic research on piracy available to a wider audience. The page was created as a space for sharing academic ressources related to the study of contemporary maritime piracy and to provide the opportunity of publishing short comments in blog format. Blog entries focus on recent developments, results of academic research, or reports on events related to academic piracy studies. A main intention of the page is to facilitate collaboration among researchers from different disciplinary backgrounds interested in piracy and to link research and policy. The page is run by a team of researchers that started to work on piracy in 2009. The site is currently edited by Dr. Christian Bueger (Cardiff University, UK) and Jan Stockbruegger (University of Leiden).
