28 Best Cruises to Alaska For Your Vacation (2024)

Hello! It’s Nasiba, sending you greetings from a cruise ship in Alaska! Just kidding. I’m in an equally magical place right now, which I’ll tell you about in a future post. Today, I want to take you on a cruise to Alaska.

Last year, I visited this beautiful North American state, described as “one of the last and greatest unspoiled places on earth”. I concur with this statement one hundred percent! Alaska is inarguably one of the most breathtaking places I’ve ever seen. It’s a natural wonder! I was in awe of the stunning landscape dotted with tall mountains, lagoons, tundra cliffs, and vast forests.

But what really took my breath away were the Northern Lights.

I only had an idea of what they looked like, painted from pictures online, but seeing them in real life is a memory that will remain with me for a very… very long time. I was there in September, which is the earliest month they begin to appear. To experience Alaska’s magic on a cruise ship was a dream come true.

You know those experiences on your bucket list that you are most excited about? For me, cruising in Alaska was one of them, and ticking it off was a highlight of my 2023.

The eight-day itinerary included day-long stops along small Alaskan towns. We explored places like Ketchikan and Skagway which have some nice attraction sites. I went ziplining, took a train ride, and went on a whale-watching excursion. It was all super exciting!

I was traveling alone, as is my norm, but I never felt alone or lonely the whole trip. We played interactive games aboard the cruise ship and I won a prize. But just so you know, there were prizes for both winners and losers. Do you think I was a winner or a loser? Choose wisely. Lol.

Anyway, I would love you to have a cruising experience in Alaska, at least once in your life. So I prepared a list of the best cruises to Alaska. You still have time to plan a trip as the cruising period is from May through September.

Here we go!
