A few days ago I found myself wondering where my next trip would be. I wanted a calm and chilled trip that didn’t require me to squeeze in so many activities in one itinerary. That’s when it hit me that I’ve never been to Richmond, which is only like 3 hours away from my current location.

I packed a bag and the next day I was on the road.

Richmond is a breath of fresh air. It’s so calm and everyone is friendly. At least that’s the impression I have from everyone I’ve interacted with. I mean, I’ve even had strangers pay for my meals in restaurants quite a few times. Not a bad life!

I’ve enjoyed exploring all the top attraction sites with each leaving an impression on me. Being a writer, I had to visit the Edgar Allan Poe Museum. Did you know they have a lock of his hair on display? I’m still not over this ‘discovery’.

I also visited the Hollywood Cemetery which happens to offer the best views of the city. You should certainly do one of the things I’ve put together for you below.

Richmond is the capital of Virginia, it is one of the oldest major cities in the United States, famous for its rich history and role in the Civil War.
